Mr. Hossein, the founder of Bidar Trading Company, started his career in writing instruments in 1942. During this year, Iran was occupied by Allied forces which made any type of trade very difficult. This continued until 1952, therefore his activities were limited to whole sale of products he purchased within Iran. In 1954, he attempted his first importation of writing instruments into Iran and a new era in his career began.
After several years, and significant increase in the volume of products he purchased from European manufacturers, Mr. Hossein decided to import products under the brand name of “Orienta”. The “Orianta” Fountain pens enjoyed a significant market share at the time and paved the way for larger sales to the provinces, other than the capital, Tehran. Several years of trade and a good name, yielded many more European brand representations such as, Senator, Cruiser, Tropen, Geha, Ero, etc. In 1950s, Mr. Hossein signed an exclusivity contract with Lyra pencils and after several years, he imported Lyra under his own brand of Shir-neshan (or Lion).
After being in the writing instruments market for 2 decades, Mr. Hossein registered his company Bidar Trading Company in 1963. The new company provided his the venue for more powerful distribution of the brands he represented in Iran.
After the Iranian revolution in 1979 and end of the Iran-Iraq war, Parker and Inoxcrom were added to Bidar Trading’s portfolio of brands.
Currently with over 50 years of experience in writing instruments market, Bidar Trading holds exclusivity on Parker, Waterman, Montegrappa, Dymo Label printers, Filofax organizers and leather goods, 3M, Moleskine Notebooks.
