Bidar Trading Company Introduction
Bidar Trading: The founder:
Mr. Hossein Ghaemi, the founder of Bidar Trading Company, started his career in writing instruments in 1942: the year in which Iran was occupied by Allied forces, making any type of trade extremely challenging. This continued until 1952, which limited his activities to the wholesale of products that he purchased domestically. In the year 1954, he accomplished his initial importation of writing instruments into Iran, which started a new era in his career.
With the passing of several years, in addition to a significant increase in the volume of products he purchased from European manufacturers, Mr. Hossein Ghaemi decided to import products under the brand name of “Orienta”, which he then changed to “Ghaemi”. The Ghaemi Fountain pens enjoyed a significant market share at the time and paved the way for larger sales to provinces other than the country’s capital (Tehran). Several years of trade, along with a reputable name, yielded much more European brand representations such as Senator, Cruiser, Tropen, Geha, Ero, and many more for Bidar. In the 1950s, Mr. Ghaemi signed an exclusivity contract with Lyra pencils. He then imported Lyra under his own brand Shir Neshan (which translates to “Lion” in English).
After being in the writing instruments market for 2 decades, Mr. Ghaemi registered his company Bidar Trading Company in 1963. The new company provided him the venue for more powerful distribution of the brands, he represented in Iran, where EJA, Parker, Inoxcrom, Adel pencils and many more European brands were added to Bidar Trading’s portfolio.
Bidar Trading Company, Today:
Currently, with over 50 years of experience in the writing instruments market, Bidar Trading holds exclusivity on Parker, Waterman, Montegrappa, Filofax, Rhodia, Clairefontaine, Moleskine, and BeneNote notebooks.
